To retain the original honey-brown tone, apply teak oil or a sealer periodically. Teak's natural oils make it resistant to moisture and rot, so it copes well outdoors year-round.
Teak and wrought iron frames tolerate year-round outdoor exposure, and rattan dining sets are weatherproof too, but all benefit from covering in winter. Store or bring in any seat cushions to keep them dry, and cover the table and chairs to reduce grime and moisture. Wrought iron should be checked for chips and touched up to prevent surface rust.
