We're a small independent retailer, not a green-certified manufacturer. Here's the honest position on what we do, what we don't, and what we're working on.
What we currently do
- Stock long-life products on purpose. A box that lasts 10 years is materially less wasteful than three boxes that each last 3. We refuse to stock anything we wouldn't expect to outlast its warranty.
- UK warehousing. Goods ship from a single UK warehouse, not overseas drop-ship. That's fewer total transport miles for you and us.
- Pallet-direct delivery on large items. No re-packaging, no over-boxing.
What we're working on
- Sourcing more FSC-certified timber lines. We don't yet hold an FSC chain-of-custody certificate ourselves, so we don't claim FSC across the catalogue. Specific products with verifiable FSC sourcing are flagged on their product page.
- Reducing plastic in product packaging — we're talking to suppliers about cardboard-only fittings packs.
What we don't do
- We're not carbon-neutral certified. Anyone telling you their delivery is "carbon-neutral" should be able to show you the offset registry — most can't.
- We don't claim "B Corp", "1% for the Planet" or similar without certification. We're not yet certified for any of those.
We'd rather under-promise here than over-claim. If sustainability claims are important to your purchase decision and a product page doesn't say something specific, email us and we'll find out from the supplier.
