Everything you need to know
Available as bolt-down shoes or drive-in spikes, these pergola post supports are a quick, clean way to erect posts with no digging or concreting required, saving you both time and money. The bolt-down option fixes onto an existing concrete base or wall, making it ideal for patios and paved areas.
Each support is double-coated, galvanised and finished in powder-coated oxide red, so it resists rust and keeps its looks outdoors. Bolts are included on the bolt-in options, though you will need separate 10mm fixing bolts for the ground. A hardened-plastic drive-in tool is available to protect the spike as it is driven home.
- Bolt-down shoe or drive-in spike options
- Galvanised and powder-coated oxide red finish
- 10mm ground fixing bolts required (bolt-in)
- Optional hardened-plastic driving tool
As timber is natural, a wood packer can steady any slight post wobble.

What you are getting
The detail that matters on the Pergola post spikes and shoes, bolt down or spikes, without the sales language. Being timber, it responds to the weather - expect slight seasonal movement and a gradual silvering unless you re-coat it.

Decking Kit - what actually matters
Anything that lives outdoors in the UK has to cope with sustained damp rather than dramatic weather. Drainage, airflow and how the unit sits on the ground do more for its lifespan than the headline material. If you want the longer version, read the full range.
Looking after it
- Re-coat with a clear or tinted exterior wood treatment every two to three years.
- Keep the base clear of piled soil and leaf litter so the timber can dry out.
- Check fixings once a year and nip up anything that has worked loose.
Delivery and returns
Orders over £100 ship free to UK mainland addresses, normally inside 5-7 working days. Larger items travel by pallet to kerbside, so arrange help to move them. You have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 - see returns and delivery.

Assembly time depends on the size — storage boxes take 15–45 minutes, benches around 30–60 minutes, sheds and bin stores 2–3 hours with two people. Exact figure for this product is in the Full specification table below. Tools needed: a screwdriver and a spirit level. Prefer someone else to build it? Book a verified Tasker via Taskrabbit.
A level, solid surface gives the best result for sheds and larger storage units — concrete slab, paving flags, or a pressure-treated timber base all work. Storage boxes sit on any level paved or decked surface. If the ground isn't level, panels won't line up cleanly and the unit won't be fully weathertight.
Standard UK mainland delivery is 5–7 working days, tracked. Free over £100. You'll get a dispatch email with a tracking link. We don't currently ship to Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Scottish Highlands & Islands, or Northern Ireland — see our delivery page for the full breakdown.
Email hello@garden-storage.com within 30 days of delivery with photos and your order number. We'll arrange a free replacement or full refund — including return postage. Damage is rare on pallet-shipped items, but it's fully covered under our returns policy.
You have full rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 (satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, as described) and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (14-day right to cancel from receipt). See our returns page for how the cooling-off period and refund timing work in practice.
