Low-profile bike storage boxes — for 1 to 3 bikes in a courtyard, side return, balcony, or tight garden where a walk-in shed won't fit. Our range runs from 1-bike compact boxes (150cm long, suitable for side returns as narrow as 85cm) up to 3-bike XL boxes for family use.

Top-opening lid design gets bikes in and out with handlebars attached — no dismantling needed. Lockable as standard on every model, with Sold Secure-rated hasps for insurance compliance. Vented for moisture control; weatherproof for year-round outdoor use.

Bike boxes are the right choice when you want secure outdoor bike storage but don't have space (or planning permission) for a full shed. Particularly common for flat dwellers, terraced houses, or front gardens where aesthetic matters more than walk-in access.

Everything you need to know

Choosing the right garden storage for your space

Garden storage has to do three things at once: keep your kit dry, stand up to British weather year after year, and actually look right next to your planting. Most cheap options get one of those — ours are designed around all three.

Use the filters to narrow by capacity, material, and feature. If you're not sure where to start, our 60-second storage finder will shortlist three options for your garden.

Common questions

Before you buy Bike Storage Boxes.

What's the smallest bike storage box?

Our 1-bike box is 150cm long × 85cm wide × 125cm tall — fits a UK-standard adult hybrid with handlebars attached. Below that size you'd need to remove the front wheel each time, which nobody does in practice.

Will a bike box survive a British winter?

Yes — UV-stabilised resin or galvanised metal, sealed joinery, weatherproof lid. Bikes inside stay dry with basic ventilation. Chains and moving parts will rust without occasional maintenance; a moisture-wicking bike cover inside the box helps.

Can I put a bike box on a balcony?

Check your building's weight limits first (usually 300kg/m²). A loaded 2-bike box weighs 60-80kg — fine for most balconies. The bigger consideration is planning permission / lease terms: some apartment blocks prohibit balcony storage.

Is a bike box secure enough for an e-bike?

For an e-bike worth £1,500+, we'd recommend the metal version with ground-anchor installation. For e-bikes £500-1,500, our standard lockable plastic boxes plus a Sold Secure chain-to-anchor setup meets most insurance requirements.
