The 5x3 wooden shed base measures W-147cm x D-94cm, a neat, low-footprint foundation suited to small sheds, bike stores and compact garden buildings. The extra width over a 4x3 gives a little more room while staying easy to handle and level.
Set the height to suit your plot using one of three timber depths - 38x63mm, 38x89mm or 38x138mm - handy for keeping timber clear of a damp lawn or evening out gentle slopes. Supplied as pre-assembled sections, the base goes together by connecting the ready-made parts, with no frame to build from raw timber.
It is an approachable project for first-timers and a fast one for seasoned DIYers. All the necessary fixtures and clear, easy-to-follow instructions come included, so you can install the base and personalise your project exactly as you like.

A level, solid surface gives the best result for sheds and larger storage units — concrete slab, paving flags, or a pressure-treated timber base all work. Storage boxes sit on any level paved or decked surface. If the ground isn't level, panels won't line up cleanly and the unit won't be fully weathertight.
