The Light shade of Creoshield Timber Treatment offers a softer, more mellow take on the classic creosote look, keeping the familiar smell and colour of earlier creosote-replacement products. It is now sold as a gas-oil-based timber treatment rather than an HSE-approved preservative.
Its oil-based formula penetrates rough exterior timber to leave a rustic finish, making it well suited to fences, sheds, gates and outbuildings where a traditional, weathered appearance is the aim. It stays a very economical option for treating larger areas.

Assembly time depends on the size — storage boxes take 15–45 minutes, benches around 30–60 minutes, sheds and bin stores 2–3 hours with two people. A level, solid surface gives the best result for sheds and larger storage units — concrete slab, paving flags, or a pressure-treated timber base all work. Storage boxes sit on any level paved or decked surface. If the ground isn't level, panels won't line up cleanly and the unit won't be fully weathertight.
