Everything you need to know
Measuring W-295cm x D-240cm, the 10x8 wooden shed base delivers a broad, square footprint for one of the most popular larger shed sizes. The extra depth over a 10x6 gives sheds with wider door spans a solid platform right to the rear wall.
- Fits 10x8 sheds and similar garden buildings
- Timber options: 38x63mm, 38x89mm and 38x138mm
- Height set by your chosen timber depth
- Pre-assembled sections that connect together
- All fixtures and instructions included
Because the sections come ready-made, assembly is mostly a case of joining the parts on site - manageable for newcomers yet quick enough for experienced DIYers. Pick the timber depth that matches your ground levels and finish the base to suit your own project.

What you are getting
A closer look at how the Wooden shed bases 10x8 (W-295cm x D-240cm) is put together and who it suits. As a timber product it will shift marginally through the year and weather to a soft grey if left untreated. Dimensions are width 295cm, depth 240cm, so allow clearance for doors, lids or access on top of that.

Shed Base - what actually matters
Anything that lives outdoors in the UK has to cope with sustained damp rather than dramatic weather. Drainage, airflow and how the unit sits on the ground do more for its lifespan than the headline material. If you want the longer version, read the full range.
Looking after it
- Re-coat with a clear or tinted exterior wood treatment every two to three years.
- Keep the base clear of piled soil and leaf litter so the timber can dry out.
- Check fixings once a year and nip up anything that has worked loose.
Delivery and returns
Free delivery to UK mainland on orders over £100, typically 5-7 working days. Larger items travel by pallet to kerbside, so arrange help to move them. You have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 - see returns and delivery.

Assembly time depends on the size — storage boxes take 15–45 minutes, benches around 30–60 minutes, sheds and bin stores 2–3 hours with two people. Exact figure for this product is in the Full specification table below. Tools needed: a screwdriver and a spirit level. Prefer someone else to build it? Book a verified Tasker via Taskrabbit.
A level, solid surface gives the best result for sheds and larger storage units — concrete slab, paving flags, or a pressure-treated timber base all work. Storage boxes sit on any level paved or decked surface. If the ground isn't level, panels won't line up cleanly and the unit won't be fully weathertight.
Standard UK mainland delivery is 5–7 working days, tracked. Free over £100. You'll get a dispatch email with a tracking link. We don't currently ship to Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Scottish Highlands & Islands, or Northern Ireland — see our delivery page for the full breakdown.
Email hello@garden-storage.com within 30 days of delivery with photos and your order number. We'll arrange a free replacement or full refund — including return postage. Damage is rare on pallet-shipped items, but it's fully covered under our returns policy.
You have full rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 (satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, as described) and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (14-day right to cancel from receipt). See our returns page for how the cooling-off period and refund timing work in practice.
